 Symposium in memory of Late Prof. Kamaluddin Ahmad

Date: 4 July 2005
Venue: International Centre for Diarrheal Disease Research, Bangladesh (ICDDR, B)

Scientific sessions, drawing on national and international experts, are being contemplated on micronutrients and natural pharmaceuticals.

An anthology of memorial essays is also being prepared on Professor Kamal’s life and philosophy as a scholar, scientist, teacher, and devotee to public service.

Interested faculty members, scientists, research fellows, students and alumni of the University of
Dhaka are invited to contribute their essays.

The following Biochemists (former student of BMB), now residing in USA have contributed a total of $1000 (Tk. 58,450.00) to the BMB to distribute in a fruitful way to the recent Flood victims of Bangladesh. BMB Chairperson Prof. Laila Noor Islam received the donation on September, 2, 2004.

Contribution from Dr. A. K.M. Jalaluddin Bhuiyan (Batch 1976)

Dr. A. K. M. Jalaluddin Bhuiyan (Ex-teacher of this department from the honours batch 1976, currently serving as Head of clinical Biochemistry, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, King Faisal Specialist Hospital of Saudi Arabia) had donated Taka 25,000/= in January 2004 to purchase books in developing the library facilities for the students of this department.
