Experience in Molecular Biological Techniques

Purification: genomic DNA, total RNA and plasmid DNA
cloning: genomic cloning, cloning of transcription factor gene by yeast one-hybrid system, cloning by PCR, prokaryotic transformation, labeling and detection of nucleic acids.
PCR and RT-PCR: amplification of DNA, amplification of RNA, site-directed mutagenesis, genotyping.

Electrophoresis: detection of DNA by Southern blot, detection of RNA by Northern blot, detection of DNA-protein interaction by gel-shift assay and DNase foot printing assay, sequencing of nucleic acids.

Cell culture and expression: maintenance of mammalian and prokaryotic cell culture, stable and transient transfection, CAT assays, detection and analysis of expressed proteins.

Gene knock-outs: Maintenance of gene-targeted animals, identification and detection of targeted gene, analysis of knock-out embryos.

Molecular Biology tools: gene data base research, gene homology search, DNA to amino acid search, prediction of promoter region, prediction of open reading frame, motif search, search for transcription factor binding sites, restriction enzyme site mapping.
