Prof. K. B. M. Mamun Rashid Chowdhury, is presently serving as the Chairman of the Deptt. of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He completed his graduation and master degrees of 1971 and 1972 respectively from the Deptt. of Biochemistry, Univ. of Dhaka securing the First Position in the First Class in both the examinations. He joined the deptt. as Lecturer in Dec. 1974 and went to Glasgow University, the U.K. under the Commonwealth Scholarship programme. After completion of Ph.D. programme on Molecular Biology of Herpes Virus he returned to the deptt. He served as Assistant Professor in Al-Arab Medical University, Benghazi, Libya from 1986 to 1990. Dr. Chowdhury became Professor in 1994. His field of interest include metabolism, molecular biology and biotechnology. He took the responsibility of the Chairmanship on the first day of November 2009. |
