Research Areas

Working in the fields of Cellular and Clinical Immunology, and Clinical and Nutritional Biochemistry for the last 22 years. Worked on the functional activities of neutrophils, lymphocytes, and monocytes in response to chemotactic factors, bacterial antigens, and mitogens. Studied the functions of neutrophils from monkeys with experimental shigellosis, and children with shigellsis at the ICDDR,B; and from patients with diabetes mellitus. Also studied the biochemical and immunological markers in patients with hepatitis B and C virus infections. At present, working on the biochemical and immunological aspects of human arsenic toxicity.
