B.Sc. (1981) & M.Sc. (1982) in Biochemistry from Department of Biochemistry, University of Dhaka
Ph.D. (1995) in Medical Science with specialization in Molecular Biology, from Kagoshima University, Kagoshima 890, Japan.
Completed a short course (1988) on Biotechnologies in Food Processing and Their Impact on Crop Production, from Northern Territory University, Darwin, Australia.

Three research projects are going on under the following titles

1. Study of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) resident calcium binding protein, CBP-140, and investigation for its presence in different living species (funded by University Grants Commission).
2. Establishment of Improved Diagnostic Method for the Detection of Filarial Infection in Bangladesh (Funded by Ministry of Science & Technology).
3. Search for the industrially important starch hydrolyzing enzymes from microbial source (funded by University of Dhaka).

Other informations

1. Attended the 4th Asia-Pacific Conference on Agricultural Biotechnology in Darwin, Australia during 13-16 July, 1998. Presented there (i) a poster titled "Tropic Bacteria with Polysaccharide Degrading Activities" and (ii) a talk titled "Lathyrus and Lathyrism: some methods for removal of the neurotoxin".
2. Completed 8 years course on music from Chhayanat Shangit Viddyayatan, Dhaka University Campus.
3. Honoured to the rank in Brown Belt as "Judoka" in the year 1980 by Bangladesh Judo Association.
4. Completed one year Japanese language course organised by the Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh in the year 1988.
5. Qualified in the audition for recording Rabindra sangeet held at Santiniketan on 27/28 June 1998 by Visva-Bharati Music Board.
6. Twenty four Tagore Songs and twenty 'harano diner gan' is recorded for publication.
7. One audio cassette published by Barsha Audio from Kolkata, India containing ten 'harano diner gan'
